Fractional Order Reactions

Postby Deborah Cheng 1F » Thu Mar 01, 2018 2:45 pm

So we've learned in class that there are 0, First, and Second Order reactions, but is it possible to have fractional order reactions, such has half or 1.5 order?

It would be possible, but it's not common (since most reactions are 1st or 2nd order), and I don't think the reactions we'll be looking at in class will have a fractional order.

for the purposes of chemistry 14b, only worry about zero order, first order, and second order reactions.

Although those are possible, we don't have to worry about them.
