Deriving rate laws?

Will we need to know how to derive rate laws on the final?

Derivations discussed in class are meant to help understand concepts. Understanding them helps understand the material.
In my Wednesday class I will discuss this.

Yes, I think we should. We can derive the rate law by setting unique reaction rate of R on the left side while k*[R]^n on the right side. Hope it helps.

Deriving rate laws will allow you to combine different formulas you have to come up with unique answers for problems you may come across.
