rate law

Postby Tiffany Cao 1D » Sat Mar 17, 2018 11:32 pm

When there are two of the same products being produced, will the rate law always have a coefficient of 2?

Do you mean when:
A+B--> C+C
rate law = Rate= k[A][B]
or
A+A+B-->C+C
rate law = Rate = k[A]^2[B]

The product isn't part of the rate.

Rate law is not affected by products so no.

the only thing you would have to take into account the coefficient of the product is the unique rate

you dont use products in the rate law but you have the right idea with the coefficients

no rate laws don't include products you are thinking of the equilibrium constant
