Memorizing formulas test 2
Does anyone know any easy/fun ways of memorizing the formulas that will be mentioned in test #2?

Re: Memorizing formulas test 2
I don't have any fun/easy ways to memorize the formulas, but I believe Professor Lavelle said that all formulas will be given to us on tests/exams. We just have to know how to apply them.

all the formulas and constants for this course were on the front cover of the last test, I don't think you have to worry about memorizing them

More specifically, I mean in terms of knowing which formulas to use for specific problems. What about that?
Re: Memorizing formulas test 2
All of them should be on the test but I recommend doing similar problems until you get the hang of it because you naturally will start to remember the steps of how to solve those problems!

Re: Memorizing formulas test 2
A good way to learn them is to do lots of practice problems to familiarize yourself with the different formulas. Focus more on application and less on memorization since they're provided.

Equations are given to us, but I personally find it easier and easier to memorize the equations by doing more problems. It'll come to you naturally then.

All the formulas should be given, focus on knowing how to use them instead.

Re: Memorizing formulas test 2
It does help to know the units of the equations. However, if you know the SI units for each variable, then you can use the relationships as shown in the equation given to find the resulting units.

Re: Memorizing formulas test 2
I would recommend doing all the assigned hw problems as opposed to doing only 7, this way after all the repetition you should have formulas memorized and know how to better approach all problems. All formulas and constants should be given though.
Re: Memorizing formulas test 2
Do all of the problems and you should naturally memorize them. Although all equations and constants will be given on the test, it's helpful to memorize them so that you can save time from looking for the formula on the exam.

Equations will be given to us for the tests/exams, but practicing problems is a good way to help you memorize how to use each formula!

Memorizing the units will be helpful. Dimensional analysis helps a lot when figuring out what units each answers should be in.

Re: Memorizing formulas test 2
We don't have to memorize formulas, but I do find that doing a bunch of practice problems helps with memorization (although it may not be very fun).
