Test 2 Material

Postby Andrew Berard 1F » Sun Apr 22, 2018 11:35 pm

For the second test, will it be strictly new material or will we have problems based on the material from the first test as well?

I believe it is new material... Lavelle sent out an email with the specific questions that Test 2 will cover.

Lavelle sent an email saying what homework problems would be covered on the test.

The material on Test 2 wil cover Chapter 1 to 1.5 "(wave and photon properties of light; Einstein equation; photoelectric effect; Bohr frequency condition; atomic spectra (electronic transitions); wave and particle properties of electrons, protons, etc.; DeBroglie equation)". This was all found on his announcements on his website!

My TA said that there will be no material from test 1 repeated on test 2.

Will accurate use of significant figures be graded on test 2?

Should we understand the ranges of wavelengths of light? like the specific ranges of wavelength (visible light, UV,etc...) because I know some module questions asked that and I don't know the range off the top of my head. thanks!

We will just be strictly tested on 1.1-1.5.

Our TA told us to be familiar with the increasing or decreasing order of the wavelengths of light, and that it's helpful we we know their values just to make calculations easier.
