### Order of Catalyzed Reactions

Seeing how 15.67 is solved in the solutions manual, is there a general assumption made that reactions that are catalyzed are first-order reactions?

I don't think the order of the reaction for this problem matters because you are comparing two different situations of the same reaction with the same order. When you use the Arrhenius equation to find the rate constant, to find the factor, you would divide the "new" rate law with the "new" rate constant by the original rate law with original rate constant, meaning that k1[reactant][reactant]/k2[reactant][reactant] would just be the ratio of k1/k2.
