Constitutional isomers

Does anyone know if there is a way of determining how many constitutional isomers a given chain could form?

I don't think there is a specific "rule" or "guide". To determine constitutional isomers, you just have to look at your structure that you drew and see how many different, unique structures you are able to come up with (making sure you just didn't flip the structure because in order for it to be considered a constitutional isomer the carbons need to be in different orientations, while maintaining the same general formula).
