Changing States

Postby Michael_Phillipi_1I » Sun Jan 15, 2017 7:58 pm

Is there a way to determine to what extent a molecule has changed states when it is in-between, for example, liquid and gas and the temperature is remaining constant?

I'm not exactly sure if there is a way to determine this precisely but I think you can look at a phase change diagram where the graph becomes horizontal and the molecule takes the form of both states (ex. both solid and liquid) and then see how long that horizontal line is. The length of the horizontal line may give some insight.
