Helium block
Would helium be considered part of the s-block since its electron configuration is 1s2 even though it's attached to the p-block elements?

Re: Helium block
I think to answer this question a distinction needs to be made between blocks and groups. The reason why Helium is considered a noble gas is because it's outermost shell is fully occupied by its 2 electrons. However, when you look at the electron configuration of Helium on the Periodic Table, you can see that the electrons are only present in the s - orbital. So I think the answer to your question is yes ... Helium would be considered part of the s - block as it only has electrons in the s - orbital and that it is only grouped in with the p - block elements because it has fully occupied orbitals.
