Postby Amanda Hagen 1L » Tue Dec 05, 2017 7:10 pm

Can the pH of a solution be negative? If so, what would cause this?

Hey, I think professor Lavelle mentioned in class that solution can have negative pH when it is superacid.... Hope it helps.

Yes, Professor Lavelle told us during lecture that negative pH values are possible. Any acid that yields a concentration of hydrogen ions with a molarity greater than one will have a negative pH.
