Naming

For the final, should we probably memorize some of the common names of polyatomic ions for the naming?

It would be helpful to know common ones like carbonate, sulfate, chlorate, nitrate, etc. I would memorize table 17.4 in the 6th edition and 9C.1 in the 7th edition.

And also, I know Dr. Lavelle wants us to know the lewis structures for the common polyatomic ions such as nitrate, sulfate, carbonate. It is useful to know it at the top of your head for during exams!

Memorizing common polyatomic ion formulas as well as their chargers will only benefit you for the exam!
