## What to do when temperature isn't given

$\Delta G^{\circ}= \Delta H^{\circ} - T \Delta S^{\circ}$

$\Delta G^{\circ}= -RT\ln K$

$\Delta G^{\circ}= \sum \Delta G_{f}^{\circ}(products) - \sum \Delta G_{f}^{\circ}(reactants)$

### What to do when temperature isn't given

When calculating the change in Gibbs free energy of the formation of a compound, is the temperature just at 25 degrees Celsius?

If it's stated to be in standard conditions. If a temperature is given, use that.

Temperature should always be given for any Gibbs Free Energy problem, unless you have to solve for the temperature in the problem.

If your problem is at standard conditions, the temperature is 298K or 25C. Otherwise, it will give you a temperature value to calculate with. Pay attention to units as that can help determine if the temperature would be calculated in K or C.

A common general temperature seen throughout problems is 25C. However, most of the time the temperature is given.

It's usually always in standard condition which means 25C or 298K

If not given, which it usually is... us 25 degrees C or 298 K

Usually at standard conditions, the temperature is simply 25 degrees Celcius or 298 Kelvin but the temperature is usually given for Gibb's Free Energy

For almost all the homework, they used 298 K (standard). I would assume that if you're not given a temp. and do not have enough info to solve for it, you would use 298 K.
