What piece of information dictates the temperature used in the solution manual for 298K when making the substitution into ΔnRT?

I think we just have to assume (unless otherwise stated) that a reaction occurs at room temperature, 25 degrees C or 298K.

values are determined by taking the difference in enthalpies of the products and reactants, which are both measured at 298 K (which is a stadard condition, ). You can just assume that is the temperature when given a value. (There is a note about this on pg. 261 of the text book; it essentially says the same thing.)
