Effect of Temperature on Halogen Reaction (Homework 5J.11)
For part b on homework 5J.11, we are given reactoin X2(g) <-> 2X(g), where x is a halogen and we want to find out if the reaction will shift left or right with a temperature increase. How do we know? Where in the book can we read about this?

In the answer key it says that its an endothermic reaction because it requires energy to break an X-X bond, but the values of b can be calculated.

If a bond is being broken, energy is required thus the reaction would be endergonic

it is an endergonic reaction i think so base your answer off delta H
