## Microstates

Volume: $\Delta S = nR\ln \frac{V_{2}}{V_{1}}$
Temperature: $\Delta S = nC\ln \frac{T_{2}}{T_{1}}$

### Microstates

I'm a little confused on the concept of microstates

### Re: Microstates

I think a microstate is the way in we can arrange the energy of a system and as the amount of atoms in the system increases, the amount of possible microstates also increases. Knowing this value helps calculate entropy.

### Re: Microstates

Adding on to the comment above, an increased value of microstates results in more disorder is a system, therefore increasing the value of entropy.

### Re: Microstates

When calculating for the micro states what number do we raise to the n?

### Re: Microstates

If there are two possible options for a microstate, then W = 2^N where N is the number of atoms
