Potential difference

I know that potential difference is work/charge but what does that mean?

I think it just means that the potential difference is the amount of work energy needed to be able to take one electric charge from one place to another.

Potential difference is simply the amount of energy (work) it takes to move a certain amount of charge some distance.

Hi, is this different from one coulomb able to do 1J of work?
