Intermediates

Postby Alyssa Ly 2G » Sun Mar 13, 2022 8:44 pm

Hello!

How are intermediates represented in an energy diagram? Are they just the dips in the curves?

Thank you!

As far as I know intermediates are the low points within the curves.

According to this energy diagram, I'd say you're right! I'm not certain if it would always be the case though.

Yes, intermediates are usually represented by dips in the energy diagram. Every peak indicates a transition state and then leads to an intermediate or the product of the reaction.

As far as I understand, yes. These intermediates are the "low points."

Intermediates are shown as the low points on the energy diagram. Hope that helps!

On an energy diagram, you'll notice that there are multiple peaks; this is where the reaction is undergoing and the final intermediates are formed at the very end of those peaks near the dips.

Intermediates are the low points in the curves.

intermediates are the low points or dips in the curve on diagrams!

Yes, intermediates are just dips in the curves since they are part of a series of reactions.

Intermediates are dips before the final dip of product formation.

Intermediates appear as the dips in the curve before the final products are formed.

The intermediates represent the dip in the energy pathway for the reaction.

Hi! Yes, they are represented as the low points in the curves on a multi-step diagram.

You are correct. The dips, or low points, of the diagram represent the intermediates of the reaction.
